Made up of four members: Kevin Geraghty (vocals, guitar), Kieran Geraghty (vocals, bass), Brian Geraghty (vocals, drums), and John Reilly (vocals, banjo). The band's music is a blend of traditional Irish folk music with contemporary influences. They often write songs about their own experiences and the people they meet on the road.

The Highstool Prophets have toured extensively throughout Ireland and Europe. They have also played at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Electric Picnic. The band has been praised for their live performances, which are full of energy and humor.
