METALLITIA – CLIFF BURTON 37th ANNIVERSARY SHOW – WHELAN’S, SUNDAY 24th SEPTEMBER. 

As a tribute to the late, great Cliff Burton, Metallitia have decided to play a commemorative date on the 37th anniversary of his passing with a major Dublin show at Whelan’s on Sunday, September 24. 

Cliff Burton was the original bass player and founding member with Metallica and was a cornerstone of their first 3 albums which constitutes the core of the classic Metallica output. Cliff died tragically and unexpectedly in 1986 but remains a figure of reverence for all true Metallica fans. 

Metallitia came into existence in 1996 when they were approached to form a unit to play a memorial gig for the aforementioned Cliff. In the intervening 27 years they have established themselves as the foremost Metallica tribute in Europe and are respected everywhere as true interpreters of the classic Metallica sound. The band’s set juggernauts on for over two hours with what can only be described as a greatest hits show, featuring classic gems like ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’, ‘Fade to Black’, ‘Battery’, ‘Master of Puppets’, ‘One’, ‘Creeping Death’, ‘Enter Sandman‘, ‘Am I Evil’, ‘Blackened’ and finishing off with ‘Seek & Destroy’. The poster for the gig says it all: “Master of Tributes” – They certainly are!
